Computing

At Bathampton, we aim to prepare our learners for their future by giving them the opportunities to gain knowledge and develop skills that will equip them for an ever changing digital world. We understand the value technology plays not only in supporting the Computing and whole school curriculum but also in day-to-day life. Through Our curriculum of lessons, we intend to inspire pupils to develop a love of the digital world, see its place in their future and use technology as part of their "Learning Adventure"

Our Computing curriculum helps develop children for the modern world by teaching computer science, digital literacy and e-safety through our scheme of learning (iCompute). The curriculum and regular use of technology will prepare children for the modern world and be digitally literate citizens, who embody our school values by: showing respect and kindness when communicating with online; solving problems and working with creativity; showing curiosity to deepen our learning through technology, developing teamwork when working collaboratively and growing in resilience as they debug and write their own codes.

We believe that technology can provide: enhanced collaborative learning opportunities; high engagement levels; access to high quality content; support conceptual understanding of new concepts and can support the needs of all our pupils. Using technology across the curriculum can help to deepen learning and engage learners
