Together on a Learning Adventure
At Bathampton Primary School we cherish our nurturing atmosphere and aim for high standards of behaviour and academic effort, especially kindness to one another.
We are a non-denominational community school which prides itself on being a place of equality and inclusivity.
We value the relationships and strong collaboration that we share with many other primary schools in Bath who, with us, are members of the Bath and Wells Multi-academy Trust. Equally with our local communities to the East of Bath.
In accordance with The Department for Education we aim to actively promote British values in schools to ensure young people leave school prepared for life in modern Britain. Pupils are encouraged to regard people of all faiths, races and cultures with respect and tolerance and understand that while different people may hold different views about what is ‘right’ and ‘wrong’, all people living in England are subject to its law.
The Key Values are:
We promote British Values by:
encouraging children to be resourceful, resilient, reflective and reciprocal
fostering a respect for others through a broad and balanced curriculum
working with people of signifcant standing within our community, such as our local MP, mayor and emergency services
prompting an understanding of the democratic process and the importance of democracy through School Council, House Captains, and Eco Club
giving the children opportunity to learn about and help those less fortunate than them through charity work and fundraising
celebrating achievement through assemblies and whole school incentives
adhering to policies which promote inclusion and individuality
providing a ‘big question’ approach to assemblies in which we study the values in detail
